Apple: The top 20 apps ever on App Store.

Bookmark and Share
Last week, a somewhat similar study by third-party analyst company comScore found that, of their research, the free app TapTapRevenge was the application that most users had installed. Apple's list only reports the most-downloaded apps. As comScore noted, however, the vast majority of them are games.

Apple's most-downloaded paid applications are:

1.) Vivendi Games' Crash Bandicoot Nitro Cart 3D ($5.99)
2.) The Blimp Pilots' Koi Pond ($0.99)
3.) Pangea Software' Enigmo ($3.99)
4.) Popcap Games' Bejeweled 2 ($2.99)
5.) Hottrix's iBeer ($1.99)
6.) Freeverse's Moto Chaser ($0.99)
7.) Shinya Kasatani's PocketGuitar ($0.99)
8.) Freeverse's Flick Fishing ($0.99)
9.) Electronic Arts' Tetris ($4.99)
10.) Apple's Texas Hold 'Em ($4.99)
11.) Sega's Super Monkey Ball ($5.99)
12.) Bolt Creative's Pocket God ($0.99)
13.) Pangea Software's Cro-Mag Rally ($0.99)
14.) Smule's Ocarina ($0.99)
15.) Subatomic Studios' Fieldrunners ($2.99)
16.) InfoMedia's iFart Mobile ($0.99)
17.) Illusion Labs' Touchgrind ($4.99)
18.) John Moffett's iHunt ($0.99)
19.) Ethan Nicholas' iShoot ($1.99)
20.) Electronic Arts' Monopoly Here & Now ($4.99)

Apple's most popular free apps are:

1.) Facebook
2.) Google Earth
3.) Pandora Radio
4.) Tapulous' Tap Tap Revenge
5.) Shazam Entertainment's Shazam
6.) Namco's Pac-Man Lite
7.) Stylem Media's Backgrounds
8.) FlipSide5's Touch Hockey: FS5
9.) Codify AB's Labyrinth Lite Edition
10.) John Haney Software's Flashlight
11.) Urbanspoon's Urbanspoon
12.) Flixster
13.) SGN's iBowl
14.) The MacBox's LightSaber Unleashed
15.) Smallware's Sol Free Solitaire
16.) MySpace Mobile
17.) Moderati's Virtual Zippo Lighter
18.) The Weather Channel
19.) Orsome's BubbleWrap
20.) Apple's Remote

The App Store is no doubt popular. It will be interesting to note which applications may still be around when Apple hits 2 billion app store downloads. If the current trend continues, you can be sure to find many more games in the future. Especially with Iphone 3.0 looming in the near future.
